Friendship bread is sort of a cooking chain letter. The people in one small community are a bit alienated from one another until someone begins the 'starter' for the bread and soon the whole town is involved. Many family issues are addressed and the reader really gets to know the characters. Sort of a relaxing kind of book but worth spending the time on. And it has recipes at the end but I'm afraid to start this for fear of how far it will expand!
